The USS Ronald Reagan sailed into the Santa Barbara, CA harbor this week. Santa Barbara is the adopted port for this beautiful ship, since it was the adopted home of the former president. This event is a huge event for Santa Barbara. The ship had been on "float" for quite some time, and the naval personnel hadn't seen their loved ones for a while. This was the first time many got to see their family and friends for a long time. So, there were families from all over the US, here to welcome their sailors home. Welcome to Santa Barbara!

At our new city library they have themed the entire children's section in a pirate theme. It's very nice and not too cheesy. This is a large sitting area where they do group reading sometimes.
