Here is picture number 4, a pile of rocks. I hand a small velvet bag of rocks (that I picked up in Denver a while back) sitting on my desk, so it seemed like a good idea to photograph them.

Here is picture number 2 of my "thing," Take at least one picture a day for an entire year at 43 Things, which starts at Flickr: Picture 1 or Zooomr: Picture 1.
For this picture I tried a photoshop effect I've been wanting to test for a while now. It's called the Orton Effect. I kinda like how it turned out and I'm excited to try it on plenty of my other pictures.

I've started a "thing" at 43 Things titled Take at least 1 picture a day for an entire year. Hopefully this will help improve my photography skills and increase the amount of pictures I take and submit to Photo Sharing sites like Flickr and Zooomr. So this is the first picture on my first day towards completing this "thing." Wish me luck.
