![]() Kenji Miyazawa - Night train to the stars and other stories.Dream like magical short story of a train journey to the Milky Way. Feels like a sci-fi story combined with a folk tale. I've read this story a few times
and it's great every time. The other 2 stories in this book are excellent as well. Kenji Miyazawa has a unique style. |

![]() Budo÷Grape (ぶどう÷グレープ) at K.D Japon on 20th Dec. 2009.I just caught the last 4 numbers of their set, they are excellent
80's indie band style rock. Funny and visual and educational
(taught me some Japanese "rude" words).
Of course any band that has a maths symbol in their name
is going to win my respect!
I'll go see them again for sure, as they are Nagoya based.

![]() Just what you need after a 10 hour flight from Tokyo to London...This time last year I had just arrived back in London for a visit to our UK office. The very night I arrived I was staying upstairs from the office with friends. At about 2.00 am there was a huge explosion sound followed by a car alarm and the office alarm. A drunk driver had crashed into the front!
The good news is the insurance has now paid for a nice new front to office. I'll post a picture of that tomorrow. |

![]() Hoodwinked SoundtrackLots of fantastic songs. Anne Hathaway sounds stunning. Ben Folds performs the classic 'Red is Blue' which is one of my kids favorite 'singing in the car' songs. The film is also brilliantly clever, funny and highly recommended.
Red: What big ears you have.
The Wolf (as Granny): All the better to hear your many criticisms! |

![]() Here in Japan, you can not get internet radio for Japanese radio stations...I like to listen to the local radio (usually Radio-i here in Nagoya) while I'm working at my computer. But here in Japan, you can't get internet radio as far as I know.
So I bought the Radio Shark. It is a computer-controlled radio that connects to the computer through a USB interface, which also supplies power to the radio.
The signal is almost as good as regular internet radio such as the BBC.
